Rising Professionals?

Management Development for
​Higher Education Administrators
Now more than ever, higher ed needs managers to have particularly strong foundational skills. As complexity and the pace of change increase, it is important that managers be able to:
  • communicate and connect well with others 
  • ​know themselves and manage themselves well
  • develop and coach a highly engaged and competent staff 
  • effectively support staff through complex change and uncertainty 
  • address problems directly
  • practice and model self-care to reduce burnout
  • model integrity and accountability

CCC recognizes that for management development to have the desired long-term impact, it needs to be experiential, practical and developmental. Knowing the pressures on the higher ed industry, we recognize it also needs to be cost and time efficient. 

​CCC's Rising Professionals is:
  • A cohort of higher ed professionals from across institutions
  • An intimate peer group learning community
  • A monthly developmental learning cycle
  • Highly interactive and practical
  • Based on participant experience in higher education
  • Both challenging and supportive
  • Zoom based and low-cost
  • The equivalent of 4-days' work spread across 7 months​

Rising Professionals is ideal for:
Mid-level managers with direct reporting staff.
For example, people filling these and similar positions: Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, Associate or Assistant Dean, Program Manager, etc.
Optional Program Feature: Follow-on Developmental Coaching
(3) one-hour coaching sessions with a CCC Coach.

Integrating new behaviors and practices takes time, reflection and feedback. Individual coaching provides support for that process by creating a space for debriefing experiences, testing out new behaviors, receiving feedback and being challenged. Further the learning experience by engaging a CCC Coach for three additional sessions within the three month period immediately following your Rising Professionals experience.
